Meet the shop guys.
Tanner is founder and owner of Black Bear Woodworking & Fine Cabinetry (established in 2012). Black Bear operates both on its own and as Maguire Construction’s in-house cabinet shop. After leaving the job sites for a desk job, he realized his passion for this aspect of the industry. Black Bear continues to grow with Tanner’s enthusiasm for custom projects and the true artistry of woodwork.
Tanner lives on an 1800's farm in New Gloucester with his wife and their rescue plott hound, Emmitt. He spends his free time on farm projects - restoring what he can and renovating what he can't.
Brian has over 20 years of experience in the trade as a part of both Maguire Construction and Black Bear. His work is beautiful and he does it fast, which is great for the company but can be a pain in the butt for the rest of us trying to keep up! Brian excels at finding creative solutions in unorthodox spaces, and loves every opportunity we have to build something we have never done before.
When he's not in our shop he is probably being convinced to donate his skills to family, the unfortunate curse of being the carpenter in the family.
Jeff is an incredible talent and brings a humor to our shop that is invaluable. He pulls inspiration from his many experiences in the arts. Graduating with a degree in the arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, he spent several years on the West Coast working with such mediums as glass blowing, metal sculpture, and wood turning. Jeff's creativity across all mediums have allowed Black Bear to explore exciting possibilities with our projects.
When he's not creating in our shop, he loves finding new experiences to share with his wife Elissa, and children Finn, Kenzie, and his newest edition, baby Charlie!
